Seven Principles of Leave No Trace

We spend a lot of time talking about how we can work together to reduce the impact we have on our environment. Although most the tips and tricks we share are directed toward our day-to-day lives, it’s equally important to make sure our stewardship of the environment reaches into our leisure time.

In honor of the National Parks Service centennial, which is tomorrow, Thursday, August 25, we want to share the Seven Principles of Leave No Trace from our partner Leave No Trace Center for Outdoor Ethics. We believe practicing these principles is the cornerstone of being responsible when we spend time outdoors in the places we love.

The Leave No Trace Seven Principles

Whether trying to sneak in one more camping trip before autumn descends or act more responsibly on your local trails, these principles can help all of us live a life of environmental stewardship whenever we step into the wilderness, even if it is right in our own backyard.

Dive deeper into each one of these principles and learn more about our amazing partner Leave No Trace on their website.

About our partnership with Leave No Trace:

This is the second year we have partnered with Leave No Trace at events across the United States. Together we amplify our shared missions around responsible recreation and leaving the outdoors the same (if not better!) as we found them. At over a dozen events this year we have contributed Kanteens to the gift packages handed out to the winners of Leave No Trace’s Campsite Challenges, a program that asks event attendees how they are making their camps as low impact as possible. We look forward to further collaboration and reaching more people with our shared mission around eliminating waste and leaving no trace in 2017 and beyond.
